So I made this bread – a 1 pound loaf has a total of 20 grams of carbs.
It’s not Wonder bread – but pretty damn tasty.
On another note – Pronk looks like he lost some serious weight.

Greinke minces no words…
admits it’s all about the money and he thinks the AL is boring…

Mesa can field.
Can he hit ?
Enjoy Ramirez. From what many say he has a big arm. Might be a “sleeper”. He’s been flying under the radar.

Good news.
I just heard that 72 is the new 30.
I’ve been ahead of the curve.
I tell my grandson I’m 29.
For some reaso he doesn’t believe me.
Youkilis injured his left oblique?
By April it will be Cano and the AAA guys.
“Yankees purchased the contract of RHP Jose Ramirez from High-A Tampa.
Ramirez is now on the 40-man roster. The 22-year-old right-hander posted a 3.19 ERA and 94/30 K/BB ratio over 98 2/3 innings this season and is known for his electric fastball.”

Another day of Diaz. I prefer a player who has been good in the last few years. No, he is a team certainty, along with Rivera. Terrific.
Morning all.
LOVE the Greinke article. Thanks Compass!
Sorry for the double post
Ramirez is listed as 6’1 155
Maine Yankee, my husband bought a “?” candle for me.
How and when did Youkilis strain an oblique?!?!
So it begins with Youk….I think he could be productive if he could stay healthy but I just can’t see either him or Hafner doing that all year
@BryanHoch
Youkilis scratched from Yankees lineup (left oblique). Will be reevaluated in a couple of days, Girardi said.

I listened to Tex’s interview after Grandy went down and i wanted to throw something at the TV. He talked about how the young guys have to step up. Hey Tex….. YOU HAVE TO STEP UP! You are the one with the 180M contract and the expectations. How about for once you carry the team?!?!?!?!
This Greinke article is really funny as hell, everyone should read it:
“The worst comment in the world has got to be when a guy who’s getting $100 million says he wants to “take care of my family,”’ Greinke said. Of course, nobody needs $100 million, or even half that, to keep their family going.
How and when did Youkilis strain an oblique?!?!

He probably looked in the mirror. That face can injure.
The best case scenario for this Yankee team is pretty good…. It’s just that that scenario has very little chance of playing out due to a the age and injury risk they have assembled.
Where is this about Youk coming from? Chad’s reporting he has a cramp.
ac1 – That comment from him doesn’t surprise me at all.
Blake
Totally agree.
With the Astros in the AL West I wouldn’t be surprised to see both wildcards come from the Western division.
Joe Morgan reporting it now on TV

Gardners agent disagrees with you.
DanBarbarisi Brett Gardner already a Michael Bourn clone – and his agent thinks he’s barely shown what he can do. on.wsj.com/Wa1gCb
I like Greinke….I think he would have been fine in NY….but his contract isn’t great

Translation….he’s not taking a cheapo extension and he’s gonna try and get paid like every player should
@LoHudYankees: Youkilis says the “injury” was just a cramp yesterday. Could play today with no problem, but Yankees being cautious. “No concerns,” he said.
The cost aside, guys like Greinke are a breath of fresh air.
Shame-
“He probably looked in the mirror. That face can injure.”
Probably could turn a person to salt.
You’re a funny Lady.
I think we are as a whole going to be even more attuned to every bump and bruise. Here’s hoping a little cramp doesn’t end up being worse than that.
@ESPNNYYankees: Yankees official diagnosis on Youk: sore left oblique.

Youk puts his hand up on his hip, when he dips you dip we dip..
Blake-
He was break dancing on the dome and spun too hard.
Michael Young
The Phillies will pay $5.5 million of the $16 million Young will make in the final year of his contract next season. In addition, the teams will split the additional $1.2 million that Young negotiated to accept the trade, in part to cover the difference in state income tax between Texas and Pennsylvania.
———Instead of signing Youkilis for 12 million would the Yankees have been better served by trading a similar package for Michael Young and using the extra money to sign David Ross to his his two-year contract as the catcher and Torii Hunter instead of Ichiro?
YT-
You sold me.
MTU – I wonder if Youk looks at Robbie, would he automatically heal? These are the questions..
Maybe we,ll see Mustelier get some playing time at third-base?
Ugh.. here’s the next controversy:
@darrenrovell
A foundation started by A-Rod in ’06 gave 1% of its $ to charity, was stripped of its tax-exempt status (via @callumborchers)
Mustilier can’t play until I learn how to spell his name.. this could take a while…
YT,
Absolutely they would have been better off. I like Young. He will prove the Rangers made a mistake this year.
This season is not starting off well. But, don’t worry. Hal said they would field a championship calibre team. That is, if no one misses a day with injuries.
For trisha: @ProFootballTalk
There’s no way Brady took less money in 2013 or 2014; instead, he apparently has gotten more http://wp.me/p14QSB-7reh
Trader – I actually thought Young would be a good fit last off season as well..
I’m in no way rooting against Youk. I want him to have a good season. But if we’re talking about cost vs. production, I think Young would have been a better choice.
Shame-
You think that’s bad ?
I’ve heard the other Cuban- Garcia has an “Adonis” complex.
Thinks he’s God’s gift.
Youkilis with an oblique strain.
Let’s see now we have Hughes with a bulging disc in his back.
We have Granderson out for 10 weeks and possibly more if he eventually needs surgery.
We have Jeter coming off an ankle fracture, Sabathia off elbow surgery, Pettitte off a fx fibula, Rivera off ACL reconstruction and……….
Gardner trying to show why he should bat lead off, and still sliding head first, after virtually spending the entire 2012 year on the DL.
Who’s next?
“It is my task to lead 6 brave souls into the heart of darkness.”

you’re going into randy levine’s office?
while you’re there steal the yankee’s austerity plan so we can burn it.
Randy-
How bout I burn Levine at the stake instead and just leave the plan alone.
You have to focus on your targets of opportunity.
Mustilier can’t play until I learn how to spell his name.. this could take a while

Just do a Girardi and call him “Musty”.
A player who is Musty doesn’t sound good.

I think it’s safe to say that if we have to deal with as many injuries as we had last year we’re probably screwed. Our best hope would be that the Rays and Jays have to deal with more.

Musty just became my favorite player. Thanks Brian!
“Who’s next?”
this is a yankee team that can’t afford “Who’s next?”.
the only chance this team that hal and hal put together was too be more healthy than the average team.
with such an old team, this isn’t likely. i don’t think there are enough old guys to fill all the spots. the yankees will by default become a young team if too many old guys get hurt.
someone needs to tell hal that life is what happens to you when you’re making other plans.
Alas Mon amies I must bid you adieu for now.
I look forward to your reports on the Amazing Jose Ramirez.

later.

Lol.
I’m pretty pumped to see Ramierez throw today
@joepawl: Jeter has 1,768 more PA than those 3 combined. MT @DavidLaurilaQA: Jeter, Pedroia and Tulowitzki have 117 career OPS+. Zobrist is 118.

Just call him Musty. Im sure JoeG already does.

Not to mention for the intentional explosion of natural gas.
you’re right !
Damn someone already beat me to the Musty joke :/
Around here you have to be quick on the draw.
Except when you’re smoking the noble weed.
Then you can take your time.

Shame -
I just want to hear it pronounced! I liked when Chad posted that the “R” in Ronnier is a rolled R. I keep saying, “RRRRRRonni-ear, Moosteli-ear”! He could be a fun guy to root for!

I think you’re confusing Youk with Big Papi!
I was worried the season tick holders would not see enough Matt Diaz this year. After all, when you spend that kind of coin, you want to see a player of Diaz’s caliber, and if lucky, Juan Rivera. Maybe both in the same lineup!!!
They had little power before. It is all part of Cashman’s plan to teach fans who hate HR how stupid they are.
Rich, plus how can you have hairy monsters on your team if you don’t allow facial hair?
That does not compute. Bunting, FTW!
As for Damon, of course he will play for minimum; he can no longer field. Seriously, he could not field 3 years ago. I appreciate JD’s past contributions, but I can’t imagine our signing him even for minimum.

Every complaint makes one a spoiled Yankee fan so far as I can tell. The thing is, we’re only considered spoiled because we’re so damn good. Look at the Cubs.. those fans have plenty of complaints but no one would consider them spoiled lol. Those people are just sad.
