Injury updates: Hughes, Logan, Heathcott
– Phil Hughes is still on track to play catch tomorrow. It will be his first time picking up a baseball since the bulging disc.
– Boone Logan as a sore left elbow. He skipped his scheduled sim game. An MRI showed no damage so he will just rest for a few days.
– Slade Heathcott has a sprained right thumb. It happened when he ran into Ronnier Mustelier in the outfield. An MRI showed no significant damage. Joe Girardi said the injury is very minor.

I don’t know why people go to a restaurant where they don’t like half the food, think the wait staff sucks, the management is incompetent, and the ownership is cheap and doesn’t really care about owning a restaurant.
–
Because baseball teams aren’t restaurants.
—
Fail.
Well, Logan had a nice little end to his Yankee career.
Oh, Slade…
Not fail, who eats at 1 restaurant only for their entire life? Who is born and raised to eat at a specific restaurant only? How do restaurants bring together an entire diverse set of peoples in fandom? Who imagines restaurants as competitors in a game? Are you following the process of restaurant food from farm to plate?
Baseball teams are not restaurants, its a stupid analogy.
Meanwhile, nationalism, a better analogy, you’d reckon that most of the peoples in the united states may: hate half the people running the country, hate the president of the country, dislike certain initiatives or programs set forth by the country, YET CONTINUE TO LIVE IN THE COUNTRY.
Nice (meaningless) win today. Let’s hope this elbow thing with Boone doesn’t turn into something serious.
Jf,
I can’t switch baseball teams, but on the other matter, I’m investigating alternatives.
@FeinsandNYDN
NYY sent Corey Black, Matt Daley, Nick Goody, Shane Greene, Bryan Mitchell, Zach Nuding, Mike O’Brien, Ryan Pope & Kyle Roller to ML camp.
–
Oh no, Corey Black sent down after pitching 1 inning??
Anyone who watched Wang pitch last night, he looked nice but his velocity was … not good. If the radar gun was to be believed he was throwing 79-85. Probably not AL material.
Tom, you can always cheer for the, Jays.
Tom, I read your story about the lady stealing all that candy out of the bowl at xmas; we get the same types here.
Heathcott……sighhhhhh.
79-85 boy this was a guy 93-95 He topped out at around 95 right
“I can’t be deceptive when I am posting your number set.”
That makes no sense. It’s about interpretation.
“Hughes’ previous high was 146 innings in 2006, and it is generally thought you can go +30 over the previous high.”
Except he was injured in both 2007 and 2008, which probably took a toll on his ability to build up arm strength going forward, and as a result, it is reasonable to question whether the general rule applies, as it is in thinking that the jump in his IP from 2009 to 2010 may have caused his dead arm at the beginning of 2011.
To call that deceptive is beyond strange, it’s laughable.
“But this is pointless because certain people on here have their mind made up.”
No one more so than you. Cashman can go do wrong. Rinse. Repeat.
“I don’t know why people go to a restaurant where they don’t like half the food, think the wait staff sucks, the management is incompetent, and the ownership is cheap and doesn’t really care about owning a restaurant.”
Stellar analogy. Duh, because it’s the only restaurant in town.
jmills,
Ton front est ceint de fleurons glorieux!
But, I don’t think so.
