Here’s the latest from the Yankees…

Earlier today, Yankees General Manager Brian Cashman participated in a parachute jump with the U.S. Army Golden Knights at the Homestead Air Reserve Base outside of Miami to help raise awareness for the Wounded Warrior Project (information below).

Following the second of two tandem jumps, Cashman was injured during his landing. He was taken to Homestead Hospital where X-rays showed he suffered a broken right fibula and a dislocated right ankle.

He is currently scheduled for surgery later today with Dr. Dominic Carreira at Broward Health Medical Center.

Cashman offered the following quote:

“I’m in great spirits, and it was an awesome experience. The Golden Knights are first class. While I certainly didn’t intend to raise awareness in exactly this fashion, I’m extremely happy that the Wounded Warrior Project is getting the well-deserved additional attention.”
