Mark Teixeira
Brian Cashman made it clear that there’s some significant concern about Teixeira’s wrist. Cashman said he hasn’t spoken to Teixeira, but Cashman was told that Teixeira felt a “pop.” An MRI revealed a strain of the right wrist, and he’s expected to miss at least 10 days. He will be further evaluated in New York tomorrow.

“I’m obviously worried about it,” Cashman said. “Wrists are very unpredictable. Even if you can get a positive diagnosis back — which of course we’re going to hope for — that still doesn’t mean we’re out of the woods, because wrists are tricky. They’re hard to get a handle on. I’m concerned about it, to be honest. This could be something where, even if it plays out as not serious, it could play out longer than anybody would want.”

Dave Robertson
Scheduled to pitch today, Robertson was scratched when his shoulder had trouble getting loose in the bullpen. Joe Girardi said he’s heard Robertson slept funny and it might be nothing more serious than that. No tests are planned.

“We’ll see how he feels tomorrow,” Cashman said. “That one, right now, is low-level concern. Just more of a precautionary, get to the showers, we’ll see how it feels tomorrow.”

Adonis Garcia
The minor league outfielder broke the hamate bone of his left wrist during batting practice on Sunday. He’ll have surgery on Thursday and is expected to miss six to eight weeks.
