TIME/TV: 1:05 p.m., YES Network

WEATHER: Temperatures in the mid to high 60s. Not much wind, either.

UMPIRES: HP Mark Carlson, 1B Tom Hallion, 2B Eric Cooper, 3B Vic Carapazza

THEY SAY IT’S YOUR BIRTHDAY: Kevin Youkilis turns 34 today. Curtis Granderson turns 32 on Saturday. Is it just me or does it seem like there should be much more than two years separating those two?

GRAND KIDS: Curtis Granderson is hosting a fund raiser for his Grand Kids Foundation tonight in Tampa. He’ll be at a place called The Patio, serving as guest bartender. General admission passes are $25 and include an open bar. VIP passes are $75 and include food, drink, a t-shirt and an autograph. Proceeds go toward buying school supplies for kids in need.

WHAT TO WATCH: Ronnier Mustelier gets another turn at third base and Juan Rivera gets a start in right field. It’s not totally out of the question that those two players could be in those two spots on Opening Day. … Derek Jeter has been in the field once this spring, but it’s obviously worth watching to see whether he’ll get more defensive opportunities this time. … Francisco Cervelli seems to have a leg up in the catching competition. … CC Sabathia will be making his first spring start. Not sure the results will mean much, but it certainly matters that he’ll be on the mound.

UPDATE, 1:30 p.m.: Mustelier charged a bunt and fielded it bare-handed, but he didn’t have time get the out at first and Gorky’s Hernandez is on with a bunt single. Looked like Mustelier might have bobbled the ball slightly, but not much. Certainly didn’t look bad on the play. He started a double play earlier in the game.

Meanwhile, Sabathia has allowed five hits and two runs through 1.1 innings. Not sure it means much, but it’s what’s happening.

UPDATE, 1:40 p.m.: Cervelli just went deep. His chances of winning the regular catching job actually went down.

UPDATE, 1:43 p.m.: Mustelier steals a bag.

UPDATE, 1:51 p.m.: Jeter snags a low line drive and turns it into a double play, doubling off Kouzmanoff at first. It’s still a 2-1 Marlins lead.

UPDATE, 1:59 p.m.: Pronk! There’s Hafner’s first spring homer, a two-run shot to push the Yankees in front 3-2 in the bottom of the third.

UPDATE, 2:08 p.m.: Mustelier just smashed into the fench in front of the third-base camera well. Seemed to slam his right knee into the bar. Banged up his ribs pretty good too. He’s coming out of the game. He was on the ground for a while, so it looked pretty ugly.

UPDATE, 2:43 p.m.: Multiple contusions to both of Mustelier’s legs, but that’s all for now. Further evaluation to come.
