TIME/TV: 12:05 p.m., YES Network

WEATHER: Temperatures getting back into the 70s. Little bit of wind blowing from right to left.

UMPIRES: HP Vic Carapazza, 1B Mark Carlson, 2B Marty Foster, 3B Manny Gonzalez

THEY SAY IT’S YOUR BIRTHDAY: Today is Curtis Granderson’s 32nd birthday.

TEX MESSAGE: Mark Teixeira is expected to rejoin the Yankees this weekend and continue his rehab work here in Florida.

WHAT TO WATCH: This is the Yankees debut of Brennan Boesch, who was signed yesterday to a big league contract, presumably to be the regular right fielder while Granderson is on the DL. … Hiroki Kuroda has looked good this spring. He has eight strikeouts and one walk through 5.2 innings. … First time Derek Jeter has played in back-to-back games this spring.

UPDATE, 12:12 p.m.: Kuroda gets through a 1-2-3 top of the first, then Jeter leads off with a double.

UPDATE, 12:15 p.m.: Jeter breaks for third on a grounder to short. Gets thrown out. Ichiro comes too far off first on a liner to third. Gets doubled off. Oh, spring training.

UPDATE, 12:36 p.m.: Bunt single for Gardner, who sent the ball to second instead of dropping it down the third-base line. Utley tried to flip the ball with his glove, but he had no chance of beating the play.

UPDATE, 12:51 p.m.: Gil Velazquez botched a potential double play ball, and Domonic Brown followed with a three-run homer for a 3-0 Phllies lead.

UPDATE, 12:57 p.m.: Add one more run for the Phillies and it’s 4-0 heading into the bottom of the fourth.

UPDATE, 1:12 p.m.: Jeter out of the game. Velazquez at short. Ibarra at second.

UPDATE, 1:37 p.m.: Sound system goes to 11 here at Steinbrenner Field. Cranked up super loud for Mariano Rivera’s entrance. It’s still a 4-0 game in the seventh. Kuroda went six inings.
