Jeter day-to-day with mild inflammation

The Yankees just sent the following email…

Earlier today, Yankees SS Derek Jeter was seen by Dr. Daniel Murphy. Precautionary X-rays were taken and a precautionary MRI was performed. The X-rays were negative and the MRI found mild inflammation of the ankle. Jeter is listed as day-to-day.

    Hopefully that’s all it is

    Let’s hope. Go, Jeet!

Just checking it out: Austin and Sanchez raking, and Pruf, for you, a couple of Feliz doubles on the video.

    Jete, sanitas bona

  6. MTU March 19th, 2013 at 6:45 pm

We’re just going to have wait and see with Jeter and hope for the best.

Whatever they do they should be as cautious as possible with him.

  7. yankeefeminista March 19th, 2013 at 6:46 pm

Heathcott’s back in the mix as well. Bichette homered. Good quality. Thanks, Josh.

  8. yankeefeminista March 19th, 2013 at 6:47 pm

MTU, I wish they had been more cautious with him when he was breaking down. Prayers for Jeet’s recovery. How was the hike? Pics?

  9. yankeefeminista March 19th, 2013 at 6:49 pm

Feliz looking good, quiet and keeping his hands back. We should get him in Trenton second half.

  10. MTU March 19th, 2013 at 6:49 pm

Does anyone else think they are paying more attention to what Ronnier does defensively than offensively ?

I think they want him to be solid at 3rd. As in other cases they might be willing to tolerate a little less hitting ?

    Just a hunch. Nothing more.

He appears capable of both though. I hope they continue to take a look.

    Thanks, you’re a goddess :)

He gets thrown at at third, though :( Good after dinner viewing :D Be back later.

  12. yankeefeminista March 19th, 2013 at 6:55 pm

MTU, definitely think they are more concerned about his D. I didn’t see today’s game because I had a class. How did he look in the field?

  13. yankeefeminista March 19th, 2013 at 6:56 pm

    Pruf, namaste.

  14. MTU March 19th, 2013 at 6:56 pm

    YF-

Yes. Losing Jeter that way was really tough.

You know how he is though. He wants to play. Especially with it all on the line.

As far as the hike goes we made it.

And since you requested the viewing here’s the link :

The pictographs are the treasures we sought out. They can be dated back to 500 A.D. And we found a new route in.

They were painted by Anasazi or Freemont peoples who utilized the area extensively over the Centuries.

    Enjoy.

    :)

    YF-

I was unable to view the game as well.

Can’t answer your question on Mustelier.

  16. yankeefeminista March 19th, 2013 at 7:09 pm

MTU, thanks. They are amazing. What are they made from and do you know the symbolism behind them?

As for Mustelier, I will watch the archive at some point. Maybe after hockey and WBC final tonight. Go Cano!

I hope DJ’s ankle stiffness isn’t chronic; the mlb season is very long. We really can’t afford to be so compromised on so many fronts.

  17. Doreen March 19th, 2013 at 7:14 pm

YF, I don’t see how it won’t be chronic. I think it’s just going to be a matter of tolerance on Jeter’s part, and that’s not good. We saw last season what he tolerates. Half the time he tells no one, and I’m sure there are times the trainer keeps his confidence. Perhaps this year the trainer won’t be so quick to do so, if asked?

He’s going to end up DHing a whole lot more than originally thought.

    Eduardo Nunez, come on down.

  18. Doreen March 19th, 2013 at 7:16 pm

Oh, my MTU – they are incredible photographs. Gives me chills.

  19. Mordot11 March 19th, 2013 at 7:18 pm

    Let’s hope this isn’t a minor injury like Tex’s.

  20. tomingeorgia March 19th, 2013 at 7:23 pm

    Mister MTU,
They did see spacemen (or something) as History Channel has taught me. Beautiful photos.

  21. MTU March 19th, 2013 at 7:25 pm

    YF/Doreen-

Thanks for compliments. It is truly incredible to me to be able to step back in time like that.

They are made with various Ochre and other pigments that exist naturally. The interesting thing about some of those is that they sealed off the pigment with animal fat in an attempt to preserve them.

As far as the meaning goes there is much debate w/o an absolute consensus. Some are obvious in that they represent the local fauna of the time.

The more abstract or mysterious ones are often the work of Shaman’s. Who knows what visions
    they had ?

I feel very lucky and privledged to have seen them. They are some of the best in the entire State.

    Maybe the whole SW.

  22. MTU March 19th, 2013 at 7:27 pm

    Thank you Tom.

    Ancient aliens, huh ?

MTU, the shaman is undervalued in Western society; here, they just call you crazy. You may want to check out, ” The History of Madness, ” by, Michel Foucault.

    Thanks for the tip Mills.

  29. jmills March 19th, 2013 at 9:03 pm

Ron, Francessa ( now, I know who he is ) screaming, was indeed funny. There’s a post game show on the Maple Leafs waiting for him.

  30. jmills March 19th, 2013 at 9:05 pm

Hi MTU, no problem, it’ll take you on some pretty barbaric trips. Thanks for the pics as always.

  31. MTU March 19th, 2013 at 9:09 pm

    My pleasure Mills.

    Glad you enjoyed them.

Francesa is going to be disappointed when Morneau is not playing 1st base on opening day.

  33. jacksquat March 19th, 2013 at 9:13 pm

Maybe my plan of “only” playing Nunez at SS vs all LHP (with Jeter at DH) was optimistic on Jeter’s end…

Francesa loves being the agent for change. He feels he has the power to influence Yankee decisions by creating a Get Morneau platform. After all, he is the Pope of NY.
