If you’re still feeling a little sour about yesterday, here’s Mariano Rivera being as classy as ever talking about his final Opening Day. Hard to feel sour about this guy. And I’m sorry about the clicking sound in the audio. I was sitting in the front row, next to the photographers.

Instead of sour… now I’m sad too. :(

There will never be another Mo. I just hope this season works out well in the end and he gets to go out on a high note.

i just can’t get into ‘mo’s last time…’ 6 months before the last time he really does anything of note.
‘last visit to arizona*’, ‘last game vs. the indians*’, ‘last day game after a night game*’…

in september ill start thinking about mo’s last times. til then its a long way off.

    Rivera’s final Opening Day

    :(

I just hope we don’t have to be regaled with all the “finals” ever time they happen! Rivera’s final game at X. Rivera’s final game at Y. This is going to be painful enough without being reminded about it every time some “final” happens. I’m sure the broadcasters will mention it each time. That’s more than enough for me. I don’t want to feel suffocated with sadness all season long.

@TBrownYahoo: Welp, almost dinnertime in NYC and Scott Boras still hasn’t heard from Robinson Cano.

@RailRidersTT: David Adams opened up about the last week. Said he was shocked by Yankees’ decision to release him.

One of you tell Donnie Collins to unblock me from the SWB twitter.

I’m going to guess that he has in some form, but is maintaining this posture for strategic reasons.

I think the quote was he hasn’t spoken to Cano. So, there’s that distinction…

  10. Jerkface April 2nd, 2013 at 5:12 pm

Why would Scott Boras need to hear from Cano?

  11. Rich in NJ April 2nd, 2013 at 5:16 pm

“Why would Scott Boras need to hear from Cano?”

I would think that a termination of their prior agreement would have to occur.

    Doreen makes a good point.

Its already occurred. Why does Cano have to talk to Boras for that? The way the tweet is written it seems like something is amiss because Cano has not reached out to Boras. He fired he ass, what they got to talk about?

I wonder if Cano the baseball player will accept a reduced contract from the Yankees so Cano the entertainer is available to accept a large entertainment deal with a large NY area sports entertainment network.

“Its already occurred. Why does Cano have to talk to Boras for that? The way the tweet is written it seems like something is amiss because Cano has not reached out to Boras. He fired he ass, what they got to talk about?”

I misinterpreted Boras’ comments to mean no communication at all (no notice) between the parties and their representatives, rather than meaning just Cano himself.

    My bad.

I think they are just suggesting its bad form for cano to not tell him in person or himself

This is actually a pretty useful chemistry web site.
