2 games in a row for Cervelli ?

  2. RhapsodyInBlue April 7th, 2013 at 11:21 am

Jayson Nix in pinstripes makes vomit.

  3. Macfan April 7th, 2013 at 11:21 am

    What a depressing team.

That bottom of the lineup is automatic outs for Verlander.

  4. RhapsodyInBlue April 7th, 2013 at 11:22 am

    Makes me vomit.

    Pathetic.

    A give-away at bat.

  5. Macfan April 7th, 2013 at 11:23 am

“Jayson Nix in pinstripes makes vomit.”

    +++++++++++++++

Seriously, can’t wait for Jayson Nix to be off this roster.

Guy is a minor league backup starting for the Yankees. Pathetic.

  6. RhapsodyInBlue April 7th, 2013 at 11:25 am

Will be a cold day in hell before I pay out for Yankee tickets with Jayson Nix the line-up.

    Absolute disgrace.

  7. blake April 7th, 2013 at 11:26 am

Nix is a fine utility guy….he’s not a starter and he wasn’t intended to be one

  8. Tar April 7th, 2013 at 11:26 am

“Guy is a minor league backup starting for the Yankees. Pathetic.”

Just a few short months ago he was picked to start a post-season game over Nunez.

He’s ok as a back-up contingency plan, which is why he’s playing so much right now. But the decision to start him over Nunez last year still makes me angry.

Hoping for a Yankee win in a very boring game because I’m not set up to record on DTV, and I’m on my way to a baby shower and won’t get to watch the game. :(

    GO YANKS!!!

    GO CC!!!

  10. jmills April 7th, 2013 at 11:28 am

Its warm yet rather windy, and since its Dickey, keep the roof on !!!!

  11. trisha - true pinstriped blue April 7th, 2013 at 11:29 am

Didn’t Nix do a good job for the Ys last season, play well in the field and get some timely hits? Or am I “misremembering”?

For some reason I thought he was a fan favorite last season.

  12. Tar April 7th, 2013 at 11:29 am

    Trish

With Direct TV there is an app that lets you record stuff even when you are not home. Your receiver does need an internet connection though.

  13. RhapsodyInBlue April 7th, 2013 at 11:31 am

Nix was tolerated for a season.

  14. jacksquat April 7th, 2013 at 11:32 am

There is no option besides Nix now so no sense in complaining about it. They are already down to their 3rd string SS.

  15. jmills April 7th, 2013 at 11:33 am

” Misremembering, ” is like that guy in David Lynch’s, ” Lost Highway,” who didn’t know what the heck he did.

  16. blake April 7th, 2013 at 11:33 am

They literally have nobody else to play SS besides nix right now

  17. Tar April 7th, 2013 at 11:35 am

“They literally have nobody else to play SS besides nix right now”

Ichiro  Would love to see him play the infield

  18. blake April 7th, 2013 at 11:35 am

@BryanHoch: Eduardo Nunez tried to swing a bat and throw, but was unable to. Girardi said he doesn’t expect this to linger much longer.

Unless we want to call up Cito Culver from A ball….nix is it for now

“Unless we want to call up Cito Culver from A ball….nix is it for now”

Would he be worse than Nix? probably not much

  20. Tar April 7th, 2013 at 11:38 am

Have a good day everybody, i’m out to enjoy this beautiful day.

  21. jmills April 7th, 2013 at 11:43 am

Have a good one, Tar, I have to get out of this bathrobe and hit the happy road as well.

  22. blake April 7th, 2013 at 11:43 am

“Would he be worse than Nix? probably not much”

He could probably play defense in the bigs now….but he is nowhere close offensively and they aren’t gonna interrupt his development for a few games

  23. blake April 7th, 2013 at 11:44 am

It is a gorgeous day for sure

  24. joeman April 7th, 2013 at 11:47 am

they should have went after a big ticket FA instead of sticking their fingers in the dyke with the crap they have now….this is going to get ugly & even when help arrives it might be to big of a hole to climb out of….so hows next year looking ?

  25. pkyankfan69 April 7th, 2013 at 11:47 am

Not sure why people are ripping on Nix… The guy had a good year last year, he’s a pretty solid utility guy. Not someone you want starting everyday obviously but when they are able to use him correctly he is a valuable part of the team.

I’m dreading watching this game… Verlander could probably pull a Red Sock and have a few beers during the game and he would still shut us out with this awful lineup.

  26. joeman April 7th, 2013 at 11:49 am

Detroit weather high mid 50′s & a 15-20 mph wind

  27. itsgonnabealongseason April 7th, 2013 at 11:50 am

It’s amazing to realize that the once mighty New York Yankees are now just a sparring partner for the better teams.

  28. joeman April 7th, 2013 at 11:51 am

can see Verlander having a 90 pitch count in the 9th inning & still getting it up there at 94 mph

Cito is 3 for 8 so far, looks like his RH swing is coming around now that he’s not switching any more. He’s got a better glove than ole Nixy right now, lol

    vs Verlander ofc

“With Direct TV there is an app that lets you record stuff even when you are not home. Your receiver does need an internet connection though.”

The receiver doesn’t need an internet connection; mine doesn’t have one and I can still set the dvr to record shows using the app on my android. The app connects you to DTV and DTV is wired into the receiver.

I am going to use this method to record today’s game, in fact. The question is, will it be worth watching later?

“…Nix is a fine utility guy….he’s not a starter and he wasn’t intended to be one…”

    Exactly.

    Who else is available ?

Actually, Ichiro, Wells, and Hafner have pretty good numbers against Verlander. We should be able to scratch some runs across against him. We need CC to be the stopper today, and give us a good start.

    ——————————————–
I would assume that a lot of their good #’s against Verlander came when those 3 players were in their prime and Verlander was not quite at the top of his game as he has been the last few years… I’m going to watch and it’s baseball, anything can happen, but I highly doubt we win this game.

  37. Shame Spencer April 7th, 2013 at 12:16 pm

Verlander is usually more hittable in the early innings.. we need to play with a lead. I think we’ve only had two so far, one game we won and the other lead was for a half inning yesterday.

We can’t have every pitcher pitching high-stress innings and expect to win. We gotta give these guys something to work with. Verlander’s going to get better as the game goes on, so they need to try and touch him for some runs before he hits a groove.

  38. bruceb April 7th, 2013 at 12:16 pm

This is a nailed-on sweep for the Tigers today…so knowing baseball, we will probably win.

  39. blake April 7th, 2013 at 12:20 pm

@G_Kontos: Can’t even describe the excitement that’s built up for getting our rings!!! #FINALLY

  40. Shame Spencer April 7th, 2013 at 12:22 pm

So Nunez can’t even throw…. but they’re saying he’ll be ready soon?

Omg, someone find that Diaz kid asap. Put a mustache on him or something.
