Last year, my sister found some website that makes customized bobbleheads. We had them make one of our dad for a Fathers Day gift, and it was amazing. Nothing quite like a bald Missouri farmer with a giant head that bobbles all over the place. It’s the only bobblehead I’ve ever bought, and it might be the only one my dad’s ever seen, but he loved it. Otherwise, I never really got into the bobblehead thing, but I can understand the appeal. They’re goofy, but just interesting enough to be kind of fun if you’re into it. This season, the Yankees are giving away bobbleheads for the first time in a decade. Here’s the announcement and the schedule from the team.
The New York Yankees today announced they have added four limited-edition collectible player bobblehead dates to their 2013 promotional calendar. The set of four is the first series in a three-year collection of 12 Yankees bobbleheads.
This marks the first time in 10 years the Yankees will hold a player bobblehead promotion. The 2013 series includes:
Derek Jeter — Monday, July 8 vs. Kansas City
Hideki Matsui — Sunday, July 28 vs. Tampa Bay
Yogi Berra — Friday, Aug. 30 vs. Baltimore
Mariano Rivera — Tuesday, Sept. 24 vs. Tampa Bay
At each of the selected games on the dates listed above, the first 18,000 guests in attendance will receive the select bobbleheads, presented by AT&T.
Additionally, the Yankees are introducing a special Yankees bobblehead ticket pack*, starting at just $88. Fans can purchase the packages beginning today at www.yankees.com/bobblehead, and secure a great seat for each of the four designated 2013 bobblehead promotional dates as well as save off the advance ticket price.
*Purchasing a Yankees Bobblehead Ticket Pack does not guarantee you will receive the designated giveaway. Giveaways will be distributed to the first 18,000 Guests at each game. All giveaways and event dates are subject to change. Please review the Guidelines for Yankee Stadium Promotional Item Distribution for complete details. This is a limited time offer. Offer is subject to availability, has no cash value, is not valid on previously purchased tickets and is not good in conjunction with any other promotional offer. Other restrictions may apply.
