Nuno and Romine called up

Posted by: Chad Jennings - Posted in Misc on Apr 27, 2013 Print This Post Print This Post | Email This Post Email This Post

As first reported — I believe — by Jack Curry, the Yankees have called up both Austin Romine and Vidal Nuno. We already knew about Romine, but the Nuno move strongly suggests Ivan Nova is heading to the disabled list.

I’ve been told there’s no one else coming up, which suggests Kevin Youkilis is not going on the DL.

Wonder what Nuno’s role will be?

“Girardi said after the game that those things happen, usually they result in something minor like a bone bruise.”

    Thanks MG

They “don’t happen” if you have your hand where it’s supposed to be. Disturbing trend with Cervelli. Standing up too soon, catchers interference, hand in the wrong place.

I would say he was a bad break waiting to happen.

    Romine was hitting at AAA.

YF, wish they had called him up after tomorrow :(

I have yet to see the Cervelli play, but I would guess I’ll get a chance to see it on today’s pre-game.

Pruf, Neal and Martin to play tonight.

Maine, oops, missed your post. Sid got clearance to practice on Friday, but no definite date on return. Could be game 1 or later. He shouldn’t come back until he is ready. NHL playoffs are a grind.

No, I did not see that about Whitehead. What was the reason given? Did you try the Quercetin for lyme?

I hope Romine gets decent playing time, and they really give him a chance.

    Is Nuno on the 40?

    Who gets DL’d … Jeter?

Does Nuno get the starters job or does Phelps?
Is Phelps stretched out enough to start?

    Tough time to return.

Hope if they play the Bruins he’s still out. :D:

I think lack of success was Whiteheads demise.

Some thought it would have come a year or two earlier.

I haven’t tried the Quercetin yet but reading about it sounds like it could have some benefits for me.

Maine, we wouldn’t play you in the first round, so Sid should probably be back if we meet (fingers crossed).

I haven’t watched Maine recently; they used to be a fun team to watch live along with BC in the good old days. Some great games between those two, loved the Paul Kariya era, for instance. Wide open hockey before some of the teams got trap happy.

You should definitely try the Quer. I take Source Naturals which also has bromelain in it, and I can feel the difference.

They are not there to give Romine a chance. He is there to earn it.
