I’ll be happier when they face a rhp and Brignac is SS and Adams is at 3B. This should happen most of the time. Adams has more potential than Nix (and is probably better right now), and Brignac is probably better defensively (at least) than Nix at SS. I don’t hate Nix, but I only like him as a backup and maybe play at SS vs lhp.
MLB should have a time period that must be “waited out” before a game is cancelled. Canceling a day game, 30 minutes before it’s scheduled start time, is ridiculous. I know they got radar, and want to fly the Toronto players to their next scheduled city ASAP, but cancelling a Day Game 30 minutes Before it’s scheduled start time is a Joke.
Danny Farquhar (part of the Ichiro trade) was recalled after the Yanks series when Noesi was sent down (due to the fact that he wouldn’t be available for several days and the pen was thin) and made his M’s debut yesterday in CLE . . .
2.2IP ~ NO hits ~ NO walks ~ 5 K’s
Larry Stone laughingly dubbed him “Starquhar”
Ahh, donnybrook had all these complaints about the yankees planned for today and now he can no longer cry about cash and joe because there was a rainout. Poor donnybrook! The yankees were supposed to stink like he predicted and not 27-16. Ah well, better luck next time! Enjoy the Sunday!
Lol donnybrook is whining again. Want some cheese with that whine, donnybrook? Still bitter that your prediction of an early season collapse for the yankees didn’t come true? Stay ” realistic!” Hahahaha.

On Phelps…. That was my point last season… Freddy had no upside or future in the organization, yet they chose him over Phelps, even though he looked like he was ready for greater things… Also said that the west coast trip would hide Freddy’s shortcomings as it did, which in turn delayed Phelps promotion to the rotation… I just hope that they keep him in the rotation this time around so he can build his innings and we don’t face a “dead arm” episode next season.
Rich’s point is very good… Injuries have been a blessing in disguise, because it has forced the FO’s hand in to trusting rooks ( they have no choice )…
I’ll be more than happy to discuss this issues off the blog… But you may not like what I have to say
Joeman… Agreed, there is next to nothing on the radar in terms of rain headed our way… Seems like getting in this game would have been easy. I’m sure the Yanks don’t mind finally having an off day though, probably not a bad thing at all for the team.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Yankees organization. Getting on the D train at 12:10 i checked the yankees website to ensure the game was still on. It was. Got off the D train at 12:35 in the Bronx and found out the game was cancelled. Really inconsiderate but much, MUCH more considerate than they have been in the past when they would make you wait around the Stadium until 2:30 or so trying to sell as much beer and hot-dogs as they could before calling it off. So, all in all, thank you Yankees.
