In search of some O: The Yankees have scored one or no runs in five of their last seven games.

Transaction: Ben Francisco has been released.

The new right fielder: Hopefully Overbay can handle right without a glaring mishap. He seems like a great guy when you talk to him. I asked him before the game if he felt nervous. Got the sense he is a little bit. But he sounded excited, too.

Update, 7:17: Pettitte gets Swisher looking to end the first. Swisher received a nice welcome-back ovation.

Update, 7:26: One walk, hitless first for the Yankees.

Update, 7:42: No runs for either team in the second. Yankees still have no hits.

Update, 7:49: Swisher drives in a run on a fielder’s choice, 1-0.

Update, 8:00: Teixeira was 1 for 9 since he returned, now 2 for 10 after grand slam, 4-1 Yankees in the third.

Update, 8:11: First 1-2-3 inning for Pettitte, in search of 250th win in 500th start.

Update, 8:17: Masterson fans two in a 1-2-3 fourth.

Update, 8:24: Aviles sac fly to shallow center. Cano’s throw just a little late, wasn’t in good throwing position, 4-2.

Update, 8:26: Cabrera grounds out and hurts his leg on the way to first. He’s being helped off, not putting much weight on his right foot. He might have hurt it first on his previous at-bat, running to first.

Update, 8:32: Pettitte a wild pitch and then two walks, bases loaded, two outs in the fifth. He’s at 76 pitches. Shawn Kelley warming.

Update, 8:38: Pettitte falls behind Santana 3-1, then goes to 3-2, then gives up a two-run double, a tough hop that deflects off Adams’ glove and ends up in the stands. Pettitte is done, won’t get No. 250 tonight, 4-4 with two outs in the fifth. Kelley is on.

Update, 8:45: Kelley issues a walk to load the bases, then gets out of it. Overbay makes the catch in shallow right.

Update, 8:52: Hafner now 0 for 3 and 1 for his last 22, 4-4 after five.

Update, 8:59: Asdrubal Cabrera left game with strained right quad. 1-2-3 sixth for Kelley.

Update, 9:12: Gardner two-run single, 6-4. Could have been one-run single, but Masterson cut off the throw home.

Update, 9:14: Joba Chamberlain comes on for the seventh.

Update, 9:25: Chamberlain fires a 97 mph fastball by Carlos Santana for the third out with a runner on second.

Update, 9:33: Hafner HR No. 9, 7-4.

Update, 9:44: Robertson comes on for the eighth.

Update, 9:47: Girardi takes out Adams, puts in Nix for defense. Wells comes on to play left, Ichiro moves to right. Overbay is out, handled his one chance.

Update, 9:51: Robertson works a 1-2-3 inning.

Update, 9:57: Paid attendance announced at 40,007.

Update, 9:59: Mariano Rivera on to try for his 20th save.

Update, 10:08: Yankees win, 7-4.
