Through his RC24 Foundation, Robinson Cano is doing some good work on Monday’s off day. In the early afternoon he’ll visit the MLB Fan Cave with kids from Hackensack Medical Center. That night, he’s going to the 40/40 Club to host a fundraisers with characters from the Marvel comic books. I don’t necessarily understand the super hero part of it, but Cano’s raising money to help kids, so that’s pretty much all I need to know. If you’re interested in the charity fund raiser on Monday night, here are the details from Cano’s agency:

For more information about the RC24 Foundation visit www.cano24.com/charity

Event features include an opportunity to play against Robinson Cano in the exclusive VIP suite at the 40/40 Club, celebrity guests, a live and silent auction with one-of-a kind experiences and memorabilia, open bar and flavorful cuisine, live music and top DJ, special edition keepsake, and more.

What would the 40/40 be for Cano? 40 homers and actually running out 40 grounders?

    (I kid, I kid!)

  3. DONNYBROOK June 21st, 2013 at 12:17 pm

Somebody better call Cano Monday AM and remind him of the fund raiser. He will forget otherwise.

“Yeah, there’s no way there was some deal between the Phillies and Lee the whole time. If he won with Texas, who knows if he leaves?”

I didn’t mean like a deal…..I meant like a verbal conversation….and there was ….Amaro has said as much.

Amaro said that he talked to Lee before he traded him and said that if he wanted to come back in a year they’d love to sign him but that they felt like they needed to do this for the future of the club…..Lee said ok and he ended up going back.

There is nothing stopping the Yankees from doing something similar if both parties were willing and they talked about it beforehand.

If we trade Cano mid-season all we have to do is offer him the most money in the offseason and he will be back, no scheming required… I do agree it wouldn’t hurt to tell him when you were trading him that you were going to try to aggressively bring him back to try to not hurt his feelings.
    ————

Yeah, but the Tigers owner spends money. If he ends up there, he’s not coming back. Why would he? Why would he come back if he ends up on any good team that spends money?

The Yankees won’t be favorites to win the World Series next season.

  6. RadioKev June 21st, 2013 at 12:19 pm

Also, that’s one hell of a patch.

“Maybe they realize he’s guilty and are shooting for a more reasonable punishment? Trying to avoid the death penalty?”

I didn’t knowwas a DP case. I admit I haven’t been following it closely because I was so engrossed in “that other one.”

If it is a DP case, sure then, having an all-female jury is a pretty good insurance policy.

Yea shame on Cano doing a fund raiser

  9. blake June 21st, 2013 at 12:19 pm

The reason stuff like that doesn’t happen more often is probably because usually when a team trades a guy its because they either don’t want them anymore or because they can’t afford them when they hit free agency……neither is the case with the Yankees and Cano

It’s not. That’s why there are only 6 jurors. In a death penalty case in that state there w/b 12 jurors.

Lee had been a Phillie for a short time. There’s something special about being a lifelong Yankee and I doubt either party would seriously consider throwing that away. Nor do I think the Yanks will raise the white flag and deal Cano.

It makes much more sense if they aren’t planning on bringing him back, of course.

  13. DONNYBROOK June 21st, 2013 at 12:21 pm

I’m curious about the rumor the Yanks are interested in Utley. Could be dominoes falling.

    trade Cano for Nick Castellanos
    trade Hughes for Brandon Belt
trade Granderson Tony Cingrani (LHP for Reds)
trade Joba for a Mike Trout baseball card.

Sign Cano back this winter, Sign Brian McCann, Sign Kuroda.

    Forget Hal’s budget.

    I support the Blake plan.

  16. austinmac June 21st, 2013 at 12:26 pm

    Trisha,

While I generally like being correct, I would much prefer to be grossly underestimating the team’s wins. These games are rather painful to see so many scoreless innings. I don’t think a good solution exists but to play them out and hope.

  17. DONNYBROOK June 21st, 2013 at 12:27 pm

I just do Not see Detroit giving up Castellanos for a Cano rental.

GCL Yanks teams opening their season today. GCL Yanks 1 lead 1-0 top 3. Luis Severino has Ked the first 6 guys swinging so far.THey said in ST this kid has electric stuff. Adonis Garcia, playing in rehab games from broken hand suffered in ST led off with a homer. Austin Aune playing RF. Guess the SS thing hasn’t workjed out so they’re moving him to the OF. 2nd round pick Gosuke Katoh lined out to right in his 1st at bat.

  32. blake June 21st, 2013 at 12:50 pm

“Lee had been a Phillie for a short time. There’s something special about being a lifelong Yankee”

all the more reason to try my sneaky plan. Again the Yankees need to really take a long look at themselves in the mirror over the next month and they need to keep Cano in the loop.

If they determine they are going nowhere this year but still want to keep Cano then which helps them get good faster again ? 1) Cano plus whatever you can trade him for or 2) cano alone.

    It’s obviously #1.

  33. blake June 21st, 2013 at 12:51 pm

“I just do Not see Detroit giving up Castellanos for a Cano rental.”

I didn’t think they’d give up Jacob turner to rent Anibal Sanchez either…..they want a WS bad in Detroit. If they could put Cano in their lineup with Miggy and Prince and Jackson etc….which that rotation…..then they’d have a great chance at one.

  34. Nick in SF June 21st, 2013 at 12:53 pm

If Cano wears another uniform, he’s no longer a lifelong Yankee.

  35. Doreen June 21st, 2013 at 12:54 pm

    Shame,

That’s correct. He got that cup of coffee in NY! This time, it’s LA (Anaheim).

    **

What purpose would it serve for Joe G to publicly criticize his team, especially when he’s never done it? Not only that, but what good does it do, when you have third string guys filling in, seeing more playing time than they were ever supposed to? He DID say on the post game interview that he DOES speak to his players when mistakes are made. It really isn’t necessary to air dirty laundry in public.

  36. Doreen June 21st, 2013 at 12:57 pm

Trading Cano with a wink-wink, nod-nod “understanding” is courting trouble, if you’re not prepared to go forward without him.

He may find it’s really not all that bad to be in a different organization, especially if it is one of the older orgs, like Detroit or the Dodgers, who also have a history of great players. It’s not the Yankees, but then, it would seem the Yankees are not the Yankees in this moment of time.

  37. trisha - true pinstriped blue June 21st, 2013 at 12:59 pm

  43. Doreen June 21st, 2013 at 1:10 pm

    blake -

But why make it any easier at all?

Let’s say he goes to Detroit and helps then win a WS. And they will have Miggy and Prince and Jackson and Scherzer and Verlander the following year.

Hey, he may go there anyway, but why give him any opportunity to be comfortable somewhere else beforehand, like trying a team on on spec?

Any time a guy reaches free agency, you have to be prepared to accept that they’re going to leave.

    **

Interesting that while the Yankees are not doing so well, the media does not have a “go-to” guy to interview…

Wells seemed to be the guy when he was going well. Cano also in the beginning of the season. Now, we get Girardi, the pitcher of the day.

    Could use a Swisher.

  46. RayVT June 21st, 2013 at 1:12 pm

SJ’s nephew was player of the Month for MiLB Pirates in May this year.

He got a quick look earlier this year, but has spent most of the year in MiLB.

Tony Sanchez (C) had an incredible month of May, hitting for a .369/.442/.706 line in 65 at-bats. He had ten doubles and four homers in that span for Indianapolis.

I wish he were in NY w/ the Yanks!

  47. Doreen June 21st, 2013 at 1:13 pm

    Trisha -

Tony was called up as a “just in case we need him” guy a few weeks ago when the Pirates were playing the Mets and Martin was having some issue or other. He didn’t play and he was sent back down. It was a short visit.

He just got called to join the Pirates once again.

  48. blake June 21st, 2013 at 1:13 pm

    Doreen,

I get that…..but if they don’t get an extension done then they could lose him anyway. Trading him ensures you don’t lose him for nothing.

I don’t think they’ll trade him…..if I had to guess they’ll keep him and give him way too much money for way too many years this winter

  51. Warning Track Power June 21st, 2013 at 1:19 pm

I’m not sure what to think about this team today. Part of me feels like the injuries to key players are more than likely going to sink this team until they all return.
Then another part of me feels like the team was playing way over their heard to get
12 games over and I should be happy the Yankees are only 3 1/2 games out of 1st place.

I hope Almonte gets a start tonight. Very happy for the kid he was able to get his
1st big league hit in the 9th last night.

  52. Frankg June 21st, 2013 at 1:20 pm

I saw Zagurski pitch for the Pirates this year and two things stuck out. I have never seen a ML pitcher that much out overweight and hit so hard. Yet he was very effective at AAA.

  53. blake June 21st, 2013 at 1:21 pm

Again the Yanks need to be a realistic about this team….a negative run differential in mid June is a bad sign and there are no men in white hats coming to their rescue off the DL…..

Not sure if booing is the answer, but his extended slump is almost 100 at bats.
Plenty of data to realize the guy is in a true funk and might need an extended
stay on the bench or his outright release.

    Future considerations of what

The Yankees promised not to trade for any bats before tuesday so Darvish can throw a perfect game against a worse offense than the astros

  60. Cashmoney June 21st, 2013 at 1:25 pm

it’s a season of attrition, the assessment is this, the WS window has closed for this team. sure, they can play better when some of the wounded are back. but those guys are supporting cast supporting cast guys and Cano can’t carry a team on his back imo. overall, it’s a decent team that may make the playoff if all things are aligned. Yanks could sell, but they will never do that. I think they want to make the transition while making a buck, can’t blame them. but anyone tell me this is a WS caliber team (mostly the brass) is kind of delusional. 87 wins might be on the mark.

  64. Jerkface June 21st, 2013 at 1:27 pm

but his extended slump is almost 100 at bats.

    In 200 PAs dating back to April: .189 .216 .284 .500

He has been slumping for much longer than that, its just his recent 100 PAs are SO bad that they make it seem like an isolated thing. He was officially slumping 2 and a half weeks into april, then sank even more to the bottom midway through May.

I have to give you credit, Rich, you are relentless in repeating your critiques of the rhetoric of Cashman and Jeter.

    On Jeter?

I’m pretty sure they’re both exaggerating.

  79. blake June 21st, 2013 at 2:06 pm

“For all his faults, Hal spends enough money to expect a better result.”

true but a lot of it he and Levine spent….not the GM….so without knowing exactly how much of it all was Cashman’s choice I have a hard time knowing where to lay blame. For all we know Cashman may have wanted to sign Darvish and the Cubans and was told no…..may have wanted to do other stuff and was told no etc……

  80. Rich in NJ June 21st, 2013 at 2:08 pm

    Nick

As far as I know, Jeter doesn’t control personnel strategy, but remember, Jeter is use to playing with very good to great offensive teams. He may take that part of the team for granted.

  81. austinmac June 21st, 2013 at 2:09 pm

We will never know how the management decisions are made, but things changed dramatically with Hal’s ascension. I have to believe either he calls the ultimate shots or Cashman is given no rope to make mistakes. When the boss says you can try for Puig or Cespedes if you can guarantee success, that means “No”. That’s how I would guess it goes down.

Yes ratings are down nearly 40%. I don’t know how the advertising money works, but pretty soon that has to cost the network/team a ton of money. I’m guessing sales at the stadium are well down.

Hal, I will give you some advice. Quit saying and acting as of money is the goal. Most of is don’t care how much money you make from your inheritance.

  82. 86w183 June 21st, 2013 at 2:10 pm

Kuroda should be the Tuesday starter unless he is pitching Sunday on short rest.

If the Yanks use Warren or Nova as the Sunday after then they should skip Hughes so they can come as close as possible to normal rest for the rest of the rotation.

  85. austinmac June 21st, 2013 at 2:13 pm

    Rich,

Hal wouldn’t spend money, I would guess, when it counted. No money for the IFAs. He only will spend when it appears he has no choice such as the re-tread brigade.

I have said for a couple of years that I see no long term plan. It has all been, let’s try to hand on one more year. That is no way to run a business.

This year is going to look like the glory days by next year and thereafter.

  86. Rich in NJ June 21st, 2013 at 2:18 pm

    austinmac

I think Hal is slowly devaluing what his father built (even if part of it was the result of luck), but greater success in mL development would have necessarily reduced payroll.

So if, for the sake of argument, Cashman tried but failed to persuade them to sign IFAs (they did make a fairly high offer for Soler), he could have pointed to that achievement and the accompanying savings in seeking increased expenditures elsewhere.

As far as I know, Jeter doesn’t control personnel strategy, but remember, Jeter is use to playing with very good to great offensive teams. He may take that part of the team for granted.
    ///

Jeter is repeating a truism that is of course valid.

Cashman is making strategic moves that completely disregard the relevance of offense in the balance of the game of baseball, having gotten rid of his top two position prospects close the the majors on a team whose key position players were getting old and were/are in decline. He also traded Melky Cabrera, when he was 24, for more Javier Vazquez.

Derek probably means “all things being equal….pitching wins.” Duhh….

Posada said in 2006 “You guys keep saying, ‘the lineup, the lineup.’ But if you don’t pitch…”

Yeah. We had Jaret Wright and Randy Johnson getting smoked by the Detroit lineup, and our lineup was getting dominated by Verlander & Co.

Would Posada and Jeter, two great offensive players, craft a team with just pitching and never bother to upgrade the offense, or at best, treat it as an afterthought?

    Please.

    Rich,

No doubt good drafting and development would have changed everything. I do wonder if the Bichette and Culver deals were money issues. It is pretty bad when back to back first round picks may never make it out of low A ball.

This team is run by a fear of failure. Cole doesn’t sign, so don’t make that mistake again and draft sure, low budget guys. Igawa stinks so avoid Darvish. Contreras disappointed, so avoid Cubans. That is what it looks like to me.

Perhaps they made a decent offer for Soler. It was one, of course, they knew wasn’t enough since it was open bidding. They have consciously chosen not to win on anyone. Hal or Cashman, I don’t know.

    I disagree.

If the Yankees had gotten off to a bad start I don’t think they would be doing anything differently than they are now.

Cashman would still be making small moves, trying to patch holes, guys from the minors would be getting called up (and benched) and the company line would be “we’re trying to stay in this thing until we get our players back”

That’s exactly where they are now.

O’Brien and Refnsyder were both outstanding college players. They should dominate in Low-A ball and that domination should not be considered as a significant sign of their potential ability.

FWIW I think Robert Refsnyder has a chance. Peter O’Brien, not so much.

  110. austinmac June 21st, 2013 at 3:07 pm

    Rich,

Folks used to always say the Yankees can afford to make mistakes. They don’t think so. If a player doesn’t have a ten year MLB track record with one good year in the past four, he is a risk.

  111. 86w183 June 21st, 2013 at 3:10 pm

One thing to consider in all the criticism.

Do you want the Yanks to move a number of top prospects in order to add some quality bats? I’m talking about Phelps, Warren, Kelly, Sanchez, Austin, Almonte and other high end guys.

If not, then plugging holes with temporary fixes and hoping to be close enough when the injured players return is the only alternative unless you are endorsing bailing on the season and selling off the impending free agents on the roster.

I’m not ready to bail out… my line is 10 games out, not 3 1/2. Where’s yours? Anyone?

  112. Rich in NJ June 21st, 2013 at 3:10 pm

It is getting harder for them to deny that they are screwing up. We can only hope that they acknowledge and then learn from their mistakes.

Why Hal and Cashman both suck.

    Why just Cashman sucks.

    Why nobody sucks.

“I’m not ready to bail out… my line is 10 games out, not 3 1/2. Where’s yours? Anyone?”

First, I agree there’s no immediate necessity to bail out now, unless for some reason a top prospect is available now that wouldn’t be later.

That said, the time is going to come when it will be advisable to bail out. It’s not a question of drawing a line at some number of games out of first. Just looking at the team, it’s reasonable to conclude that becoming a strong playoff contender is not in the cards. Look, if everyone were healthy and productive, which they aren’t, they still aren’t as good as they were last year.

The Sox repositioned themselves with some astute moves last year. The Yanks can do the same, but not if they don’t face up to where they really are.

It’s not about being cynical or not – it’s just very hard to make major moves so early in the season.

Cashman has made a ton of moves so far this year in an effort to throw whatever he can against the wall and see what sticks. They’re bringing in DFA’d players like Nelson and Brignac, signing guys out of Indy Ball – all in an attempt to patch until they get their guys back because that’s all they could do to this point.

Now we’re at the time of year when trades start happening and we’ll see if the Yankees make any. I don’t think they will. I think they’ll stand pat and say we’re not going to mortgage our future for a quick fix and we’re going to improve simply by getting guys back.

Has anyone heard the term collusion?

Or perhaps you think GM’s would not see something underhanded and extract their pound of flesh in future dealings?

    “It’s Hal’s fault, It’s Cashman’s fault, It’s Girardi’s fault or maybe Long’s fault?

Wrong on #1 he did not create the financial mess leading to a 230mm. payroll, and as an owner expecting ROI he has every right to be severely pissed at this product.

Numbers #3&4, also no, they play the cards they’ve been dealt and have done an admirable job with this roster.

Yes #2 is the correct door and not simply for this year.

Cashman has had ample time to view what has been delivered by the organizational gurus managing the drafts, International scouting, pending FA’s and overall developmental progress of the organization since 05. It’s called the vision thing!

This is where he’s failed and as a result and now due to reasonable budget constraints is being hailed in some quarters as having done a “great job” patching together this year’s soon to be in last place in the division team.

Absurd, the” fish head”is his and it doth rot , and while it must be distracting given his rappelling classes and other “I’m no longer a weenie” activities”, he along with the useless group of Tampons are to blame for the fall of the Yankee empire.

Finally, Hal while not his Dad in any way at least is a responsible and informed businessman and lest we forget, we could have had Hank in charge!

The Yanks are 3 games out & only 2 in the Loss column. IMO, they are truly lucky to be this close still. July is the make or break month & more accurately, the week after the AS Break is key. I expect quite a few regulars to come back then.

Jeter, Granderson, ARod, Nunez, Pineda, Cervelli (or Shoppach maybe), Nova & whoever the Yanks add along the way. Maybe Tex comes not too much later too. (Boesch maybe as well)

These additions will feel like new upgraded trade additions & infuse new offensive steam. Every team in the East has issues. Tampa with offense, O’s with SP, RSox with BP & CL, Toronto with a bit of everything so the Yanks still have an opening. I just don’t want it to close too quickly. My prediction is the Yanks add Soriano within a week or someone like him as a RH Bat.

  154. 86w183 June 21st, 2013 at 3:49 pm

Brignac should beg for a Scranton assignment so he can play every day and try to find some semblance of an offensive game. His 5-44 w/ 17 K for the Yanks is one of the worst ever and that includes our old pal Ben Fran-WHIFF-sco… but he has had some MLB success.

In 2010 he had a .692 OPS over 300+ at bats, which is not bad for an excellent defensive shortstop. Maybe he can be that again.

Why do some of you spend a bunch of time assessing blame? Other than a few notable examples we have no clue which signings/trades were all on Cashman, which one(s) might have been ordered by upper management, which signing he recommended that they rejected or anything else.

It’s a mistake to make the organizational failures personal failures on Cashman’s apart. You just don’t know what’s his doing and what isn’t. The fact he still has a job is a pretty clear indication he’s done what his bosses wanted him to do.

  155. comnsnse June 21st, 2013 at 3:49 pm

    Soriano, why?

What does he bring to the table given the numerous holes in this roster.

And what about cost? A team will rent a guy like this when they are definite contenders and need one player. Is he the future?

The Yankees are not definite contenders, will have trouble avoiding last place and Soriano is exactly what this organization doesn’t need!

    yankeefeminista June 21st, 2013 at 3:47 pm

I would prefer Zoilo play RF.
    ///

Now I lay me down to sleep….

I’ve seen some “exciting” plays from him in left at SWB…. not exactly our left field, either. They’ll learn…or better – maybe he will. I hope. Much less risk in right with him.

  157. austinmac June 21st, 2013 at 3:54 pm

The Yankees Hague had some remarkable batting numbers with Romine at about .100, Brignac at 5-44 and Wells on his nine for nine million. What does the average pitcher hit in the NL? Worse?

  158. 86w183 June 21st, 2013 at 3:55 pm

Blake is absolutely on target. Teams frequently tell a guy BEFORE the consummation of a trade that “if we do this, we’d still be interested if you become a free agent.”

Nothing wrong with that as long as the player is still your property.

It definitely happens with quite a few trade deadline guys.

  159. austinmac June 21st, 2013 at 3:56 pm

The Yankees Hague is of course their court in the old Dutch section of NY. :)

  160. comnsnse June 21st, 2013 at 3:56 pm

86w, are you actually saying as GM since 05 he has not been making all major personnel decisions?

Can you be serious that the Steinboys know anything about evaluating baseball players and provide input on roster decisions and the like?

No they do not except as to budgetary issues, and as far as Cashman keeping his job.

That only reinforces the idea they know nothing about evaluating players, trades, FA’s etc.

This is a business and like any other you hire people to do certain jobs evaluating them along the way.

You do not micro manage them, the George era is over and the Messrs. Steinboys, Trost and Levine look at earnings not baseball players!

  161. austinmac June 21st, 2013 at 3:58 pm

    86,

I have to agree. We can blame the result, but we don’t know the process. Cashman is an employee. We don’t know what he recommended. It did sound this winter like he had limited authority.

  162. J. Alfred Prufrock June 21st, 2013 at 3:59 pm

So, when Cashman said “I have a dream…”

    …we should considered the subtext:

“Randy Levine has this dream….and it’s incumbent upon me to see that it comes true.”

  163. comnsnse June 21st, 2013 at 4:01 pm

86, really, how about you tell us exactly whom you are referring to?

When owners talk to other owners it’s collusive, but when teams solicit a collusive deal with their employees it’s to the potential detriment of a competitor it’s not?

What law school did you go to?

More to the point again, have you ever heard of the concept of dealing above board and what the consequences might be when you do not?

  164. comnsnse June 21st, 2013 at 4:07 pm

Omigod, Austinmac. Wells, Hafner, Ichiro for a deuce, Brignac, Gonzo and the “assets” brought up from our unproductive system had the Steinboys and tha accountants looking over Cashman’s shoulder reminding him of his “limited authority”.

    Comedy central awaits!

  165. Against All Odds June 21st, 2013 at 4:13 pm

This team is run by a fear of failure. Cole doesn’t sign, so don’t make that mistake again and draft sure, low budget guys. Igawa stinks so avoid Darvish. Contreras disappointed, so avoid Cubans. That is what it looks like to me

    —————————-

There maybe some truth to that. Instead of looking at each situation at a case by case basis they group them all into one category and decided it wasn’t worth the risk.

  166. CompassRosy June 21st, 2013 at 4:13 pm

    random info via twitter . . .

    Astros 18-16 since May 15.
In that time, their rotation has a 2.96 ERA, best in the American League.

    whodathunk?!?

  167. comnsnse June 21st, 2013 at 4:14 pm

Gentleman, in any business when the asset does not produce the desired result for ownership the axe falls on the CEO.

And as for “examining the process”, they hire a new CEO and ask him, “what’s your game plan”.

When you are new to a business as are the Steinboys and girls and don’t really understand the reasons for the success nor the nuance, you tend to retain the people you have rather than make changes in haste.

The aforementioned owners etc. have had ample time to view Cashman’s work product and by not paying closer attention now have a major problem in their 3-5 billion dollar empire!

You examine the company when business is good not when it’s in trouble.

In that manner you are proactive and not reactive, and equally important have time as an asset.

  168. comnsnse June 21st, 2013 at 4:16 pm

    AAO, interesting analysis.

  169. comnsnse June 21st, 2013 at 4:23 pm

Blake @3:47, so if there was no public info how do you know what you can’t know, dude?

My young friend when it comes to being “obtuse” for a person your age you must have studied under the masters as an infant!

However lest we stray, how do you know what Amaro said to Lee?

  170. 86w183 June 21st, 2013 at 4:31 pm

    comnsnse —

Please change your handle since you rarely use any.

Hell no Cashman has not made every major personnel decision. Where have you been? It’s public knowledge that the A-Rod contract and the Soriano signings were both over his objections. All I’m saying is I don’t know and you sure as hell don’t know how much decision making freedom he has/had.

In your own diatribe you talked about CEO’s making the decision. Well I got news for you Sparky. There is not one GM in MLB who is the CEO of the organization. Not one.

It’s not collusion to tell an employee of your interest in having him/her as an employee at some point in the future. It WOULD be collusion if they reached agreement on a FA contract and then went ahead with the trade.

What high school did you flunk out of??

  171. comnsnse June 21st, 2013 at 4:50 pm

86w, incoherent babble doesn’t detract from your obvious lack of business knowledge.

As for the CEO reference it was offered as to the personnel control and decision making responsibilities. Speaking of nuance you are deficient in your understanding of same.

I already said Hank was responsible for the Arod financial deal and what Soriano signing, surely you don’t mean from Japan?

Perhaps you might counsel with Blake and tell everyone who you know from what organization has done business in this manner.

And your example of “reaching a FA contract with someone THEN trading them” is so patently absurd it simply reinforces your ignorance.

Zune and iPod: Most people compare the Zune to the Touch, but after seeing how slim and surprisingly small and light it is, I consider it to be a rather unique hybrid that combines qualities of both the Touch and the Nano. It’s very colorful and lovely OLED screen is slightly smaller than the touch screen, but the player itself feels quite a bit smaller and lighter. It weighs about 2/3 as much, and is noticeably smaller in width and height, while being just a hair thicker.

(There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)

Between me and my husband we’ve owned more MP3 players over the years than I can count, including Sansas, iRivers, iPods (classic & touch), the Ibiza Rhapsody, etc. But, the last few years I’ve settled down to one line of players. Why? Because I was happy to discover how well-designed and fun to use the underappreciated (and widely mocked) Zunes are.

Dear Katie, I am sorry to hear that your doctor made a mistake and put you on Depo injections. You say that you are still obtaining injections? These injections are made from progestin, a synthetic form of progesterone which is used mainly as a method of birth control for girls who cannot use any other form of birth control. Among the drug’s side effects is weight gain. A single injection lasts for three months. So if you are nonetheless finding these injections, please, please, tell your doctor that you don’t want to receive them any longer. The effects of the drug will remain inside your body for three months, so during these three months, it may possibly be difficult to lose the added weight which you gained, no matter what you do. There are other a lot more gentler ways to regulate your periods and menses, especially at your tender formative age. Here are some of the negative reasons for not making use of Depo-Provera: it can cause decreased bone density which can lead to osteoporosis, depression, increased blood clots, liver damage, headaches, hair loss, leg cramps, nervousness, dizziness, abdominal bloating, and weight gain. For your stretch marks on your stomach, you’ll be able to rub some vitamin E on them. Just puncture a capsule of vitamin E and gently apply to your stomach region once or twice each day. The stretch marks will respond towards the vitamin E if you use it regularly and use it as soon as they appear. The older the stretch marks, the longer and more difficult they are to rub away. It is finest to use natural vitamin E, which can be distinguished from the synthetic form by the following small print and notations on the vitamin bottle: d- will be the natural form, and dl- could be the synthetic form. Use only the d- form which is the natural form. I feel that synthetic substances have caused enough harm already, and should be laid to rest. Discover a doctor who will listen to you, have patience until the Depo drug gets out of your system and body, and continue follow a healthy diet and exercise regimen to get back to your former weight. Please read the posts above to learn a lot more about dieting. Great luck.

This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of “neighbors” will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.
