I don’t usually whine about the lineup… but Ichiro has been very good against LHP this year and now he can’t get into a game?

I give up on Romine, maybe he’ll play more when he’s 35

  2. jpb173 September 3rd, 2013 at 3:42 pm

Posted lineup has Jeter at DH and Stewart catching. I’m disappointed the Yankees didn’t run out the same lineup as yesterday.

  3. blake September 3rd, 2013 at 3:43 pm

“There should be absolutely no way they let Cano leave. Not only will end up being the greatest 2nd baseman in team history, but he’s on track to be one the top 5 in the history of the game, and I’m being generous to the other 4.

If they were operating like the Yankees should then I absolutely agree with you….but if they are going to operate like the Hal chain restaurant efficiency first Yankees then they need to avoid paying Cano for his 30?s for the production he gave in his 20?s……because it almost certainly won’t be the same.

  4. axel September 3rd, 2013 at 3:44 pm

Ichiro and Romine should be inthe lineup

  5. 4TrainNorth September 3rd, 2013 at 3:45 pm

A-Rod will take Sale deep tonight! He’s due! Wait, he is due, right?

  6. 4TrainNorth September 3rd, 2013 at 3:46 pm

Cano is leaving like Joba is cutting down on double cheeseburgers.

  7. axel September 3rd, 2013 at 3:47 pm

Once you pay a player more than his value in production, he is no longer cost efficient.

  8. 4TrainNorth September 3rd, 2013 at 3:50 pm

I think the Yankees concern themselves with overall value, not just value in production. Jeter, for example, has been a steal for years because of the former.

  9. Warning Track Power September 3rd, 2013 at 3:50 pm

The line-up might be puzzling, but I have to think that Girardi knows more
about the players he has then I do. Am I right or wrong???

ARod is certainly due to hit the ball out of the park. I also believe that Wells is due as well.
If he does not play vs lefties, then why have him on the roster. The guy needs at bats
and this WS series is the perfect time since they are sending 3 consecutive lefties to the mound.

  10. Hearn September 3rd, 2013 at 3:54 pm

    Stewie again???

    Good Lord.

Yankee fans must have serious problems with their personal lives. It’s the only reason why they whine and complain more than any other fanbase on the planet!

  12. Mordot11 September 3rd, 2013 at 4:02 pm

Wells 0-4 with a walk against Sale, Ichiro 2-11. Not much history either way so it’s important to have the inferior player in the game.

I can’t speak to personal lives, but Yankee fans around here love to complain about
    every little detail.
Let’s be honest. Some of you complain when the Yankees win a game.

  14. jpb173 September 3rd, 2013 at 4:02 pm

the thing that’s crazy about this lineup is that Girardi is playing Nunez at SS while DH’ing Jeter. Derek is the better fielder and should be at SS. If Girardi wants Nunez’ offense in the lineup then he should DH him.

  15. Wave Your Hat September 3rd, 2013 at 4:07 pm

“the thing that’s crazy about this lineup is that Girardi is playing Nunez at SS while DH’ing Jeter. ”

Jeter ran a lot yesterday. Joe is probably resting him and that makes sense. And if a 39 year old, post-injury Jeter really is a better fielder than Nunez, Nunez needs to think about an alternate career.

  16. MoRings42 September 3rd, 2013 at 4:09 pm

Ichiro is hitting .330 against LHP
Wells is hitting .230 against LHP

Throw the “book” away and let Wells start against RHP who he’s hit a little better this season and where the majority of his power numbers are.

Name a worse player in baseball than Chris Stewart

  27. ObviousMan September 3rd, 2013 at 4:34 pm

Again, what qualifies posters on a message board to know more about the Yankees than a MOY candidate? If you’re so smart, why are you stuck here complaining in the middle of the friggin day, while Girardi is doing his job, managing the greatest franchise in sports? Want to explain that to me, geniuses?

  28. ObviousMan September 3rd, 2013 at 4:35 pm

And there is not a SINGLE fanbase in all of sports that complains about their team as much as Yankee fans do. So if you guys are as smart as you say, the Yankees should not only be the worst team in baseball, they should also be the worst tea ever to exist in the history of sports? Is this true?

  29. Giuseppe Franco September 3rd, 2013 at 4:38 pm

Girardi is not a favorite to win the MOY. That’s baloney.

Has he done a good job this season despite the number of injuries? Yes.

But the voters aren’t going to vote for a Yankee manager that’s expected to win every year and he sure as hell isn’t going to be considered for the award if his team misses the postseason – a scenario that appears likely.

So only in your mind is Girardi a favorite for the MOY.

  30. ObviousMan September 3rd, 2013 at 4:38 pm

Yea, I’m sure Yankee management is going to lose sleep at night because a MESSAGE BOARD POSTER named Meloo criticized their moves. LOL

Girardi is absolutely a favorite to win MOY. Only Yankee fans think he’s a bad manager. Read basically any accredited sports news outlet outside of New York City or a Yankee-”fan” blog and you’ll see the well-deserved praise for Girardi.

    Try again.

  33. Wave Your Hat September 3rd, 2013 at 4:39 pm

I think Girardi is a MOY candidate for sure.

  34. axel September 3rd, 2013 at 4:40 pm

    Obviousman is trolling

  35. exiledintampa September 3rd, 2013 at 4:41 pm

Chris Stewart is 4th in all of baseball in pitch framing. Jonathan Lucroy 38 framing runs in 896 innings is first. Russell Martin 19 in 896, Yadier Molina 19 in 919, Chris Stewart 17 in 713.

That’s why Girardi keeps trotting him out there. I’m not saying it’s the right reason but, with the inconsistant pitching I think that’s his reasoning.

  36. meloo September 3rd, 2013 at 4:42 pm

    Vernon Wells sucks.
    Thank god Nix is gone.
Chris Stewart is the worst baseball player I’ve ever seen put on pinstripes.
    Girardi sucks.
    Joba sucks.
    Hughes sucks.
    Why isnt Betances pitching?
    Where is Claiborne?
Can Ichiro hit against lefties clueless Joe?
Lyle Overbay should have been DFA’d.
Melky Mesa should be here over Wells. It’s jsut the money situation keeping him here.
    Let JR and Romine PLAY.
    Please fire Cashman.

List goes on, but those are a few of my 2013 complaints. You want some more?

  37. ObviousMan September 3rd, 2013 at 4:42 pm

Yeah cuz on a Yankee fan blog you’re trolling if you DON’T complain about how bad the Yankees are.

Seriously, why don’t you people go root for another team, if you can’t stand how bad the Yankees are year in and year out. Yankees nor their management is the problem, but there is something SERIOUSLY wrong with Yankee fans on the Internet.

“The line-up might be puzzling, but I have to think that Girardi knows more

Not only are you right, you are unequivocally right.

If the Yankees were atop the division by about 7 games and Romine wasn’t getting playing time, I might understand the questions. And here’s a possibility. Kuroda has hit a wall, hopefully a temporary one, and it could be that Girardi feels that Stewart it much better equipped to detect and finesse any problems which might occur.

Because we may not know the reasons for things doesn’t mean that there aren’t reasons. For some reason I can’t picture Girardi putting names in a hat, shutting his eyes, and picking one out.

  39. ObviousMan September 3rd, 2013 at 4:44 pm

Thank god you have zero say in what happens to the Yankee franchise. You’re just an idiot on a message board. Sucks to be you, I guess.

I appreciate that. Sadly, the only thing that can save me from Hawk is the mute button.

Although, I did enjoy listening to him yesterday when the Yanks broke it open. He later said that that inning might have been the most embarrassing inning he’s ever broadcasted.

Call it hyperbole, but it made me chuckle nonetheless.

Hard to believe this team got swept by them last month.

  45. Giuseppe Franco September 3rd, 2013 at 4:48 pm

Announcers are supposed to be homers so that doesn’t bother me about Hawk. Michael Kay is a homer and I can’t stand listening to him either.

I just don’t like the stupid “Hawkisms” and the constant complaints about umpires. He also tells the same stories over and over again.

Lol dude I think you need to get laid.
Anyways, if I were to run out a lineup card tonight it would go as follows:

    1. Gardner
    2. Jeter
    3. Cano
    4. Soriano
    5. A-Rod
    6. Reynolds
    7. Ichiro
    8. J.R. Murphy
    9. Romine

That’s a real lineup card. Jeter would be 6th/Grandy 2nd if it wasn’t for Sale.
    You mad?

Put JR in the damn lineup at DH – and I say this because a nice prospect performing well can provide a huge spark to your team. Not Chris Stewart and his bat kicking after every pitch, not looking up at his pop outs and alligator arms when he runs back to the dugout EVERYTIME. Chris Stewart would bat 9th on the Long Island Ducks and any softball league. He’s that bad.

  51. ObviousMan September 3rd, 2013 at 5:01 pm

If the Yankees are anywhere near as BAD as you say they are, they should have won 20-30 games by now. You’re bitter and angry about something, so you come on the Internet and express your anger by complaining about Cashman and Girardi, and pretending that your opinion actually means something. Maybe you should try going out for a run or seeing a therapist to manage your anger. That’s much healthier than mindlessly venting over the Internet. Sames goes for you, Meelo. Your rants and ravings obviously have nothing to do with the Yankees, unless you really are that dumb, which I choose not to believe. Fix your personal life instead of hiding it with Internet rants.

Wells has one home run since May 15th. I’m not convinced he is more likely to hit one out, especially at Yankee Stadium. Couple that with Ichiro’s superior baserunning, defense, and situational hitting and I would much rather have a rested Ichiro in the lineup.

If he swings the bat well tonight or if one of the other OFs is slumping or matches up badly Joe might give him a start in Boston but I don’t expect him to start those games.

Zune and iPod: Most people compare the Zune to the Touch, but after seeing how slim and surprisingly small and light it is, I consider it to be a rather unique hybrid that combines qualities of both the Touch and the Nano. It’s very colorful and lovely OLED screen is slightly smaller than the touch screen, but the player itself feels quite a bit smaller and lighter. It weighs about 2/3 as much, and is noticeably smaller in width and height, while being just a hair thicker.

Nice post. I was checking continuously this blog and I am impressed! Very useful info particularly the last part :) I care for such information a lot. I was seeking this particular info for a very long time. Thank you and good luck.

  82. check this site out August 10th, 2014 at 8:38 am

The Zune concentrates on being a Portable Media Player. Not a web browser. Not a game machine. Maybe in the future it’ll do even better in those areas, but for now it’s a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod’s strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.

If you’re still on the fence: grab your favorite earphones, head down to a Best Buy and ask to plug them into a Zune then an iPod and see which one sounds better to you, and which interface makes you smile more. Then you’ll know which is right for you.

Hands down, Apple’s app store wins by a mile. It’s a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I’m not sure I’d want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.

Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass’ favor.

Between me and my husband we’ve owned more MP3 players over the years than I can count, including Sansas, iRivers, iPods (classic & touch), the Ibiza Rhapsody, etc. But, the last few years I’ve settled down to one line of players. Why? Because I was happy to discover how well-designed and fun to use the underappreciated (and widely mocked) Zunes are.
