Hey all. If the Yankees win every single one of their last games, can they still be eliminated? I stopped following all of the different iterations.

I honestly don’t remember the retirements of some of the past greats, but it didn’t seem like they were all happening in tandem, or at least not all clustered the way these feel. It is definitely a shock to the emotional system.

Happy about last night’s game but I have to wonder if our wins now are as much a function of the opposing hitters not knowing our pitchers so well. That is, are we fooling the NL hitters but are in for hell when we hit Tampa? I guess we’ll find out.

I think I have to agree with Shame. As much as a miracle ending and then a miracle re-emergence would be nice, I think that reality says those kinds of miracles are truly only in movies. I’m all for it but definitely prepared for it not to happen.

Birthday party today so will miss this game too.

Reading all of the posts about how sad you all are feeling is making me even sadder. I don’t think anyone but Yankee fans can really understand just how wrenching and traumatic this weekend is for us. While I know that sounds extremely dramatic, the reality is that it’s true.

I keep reading these nifty little stories about the first to last, last to first SF-Sux juxtaposition (barf).

All I have to say about that is – Hey San Fran! Someone’s not taking their sterrrr-oids!!!

    Trisha —-

Even if the Yanks win out they would need Tampa Bay, Baltimore and Kansas City to lose one more game to tie those teams, and for Texas and Cleveland to lose THREE more games to tie them.

    BOY those Toronto losses hurt.

Not to be pessimistic, but to quote Yogi ( he didn’t say this, did he? ) “this ain’t your father’s Yankee W.S. team.”

Should be an interesting winter and next couple of years.

If you really want to know what Yogi did or did not say you need to get the “Book of Yogi” which is subtitled, “I really didn’t say all the things I said.”

There’s some funny stuff in there
