Sabathia shut down with Grade 2 hamstring strain

CC Sabathia’s season is finished.

The Yankees announced today that Sabathia suffered a Grade 2 hamstring strain during his last start against San Francisco. It requires roughly eight weeks of recovery time, which means Sabathia will not pitch again this season, even if the Yankees make an unlikely run into the playoffs.
