The Yankees have made their first move of the offseason.
Left-handed reliever Mike Zagurski has been outrighted off the 40-man roster. Brian Cashman confirmed the move and said the Yankees have made no other moves with their 40-man roster at this point.
Zagurski being taken off the roster was inevitable. He bounced around through three different organizations this season, and the Yankees signed him to a big league deal late in the year after Boone Logan got hurt. He into only one game. He was quite literally the last man in the bullpen (though he did seem extremely popular with the guys who knew him from Triple-A).
It’s a very, very minor move. But it’s a start.
