We all knew this Yankees offseason was going to be a bit longer than usual, but it’s been every bit as quiet as expected so far. Aside from the Joe Girardi contract and the bits and pieces coming out of the Alex Rodriguez hearing, there hasn’t been much real action for the Yankees. Really can’t do much until the World Series is over.

So, I guess the good news is that the World Series starts on Wednesday. That means we’re getting closer to the real winter action.

Here are the basic dates to keep in mind.

Immediately after the World Series
Eligible players become free agents

Fifth day after the World Series
Last date to reinstate players from 60-day disabled list.
Last date for teams to tender qualifying offers to free agents
Eligible minor league players become free agents

Sixth day after the World Series
Free agents become available to all teams

Twelfth day after the World Series
Last date for players to accept qualifying offers from their former clubs
