We do this every year, and I enjoy it every year. So let’s do it again.
Here at the LoHud Yankees Blog, we’re looking for some outside opinions and new points of view to fill up those slow weeks in late January and early February. To find those new voices, we’re looking for anyone who would like to write a guest blog post — 400-500 words or so — about anything related to the Yankees. It could be a defense of Derek Jeter as the team’s everyday shortstop, or a plan for Jeter to open the door for someone else. It could be a short essay about Mariano Rivera, your expectations for Michael Pineda, or an attempt to build a blueprint for the next 12 months.
Whatever you’d like to say, email your ideas to me — a few sentences explaining what you want to write — and I’ll make some choices, looking for a variety of topics and styles. In early January, I’ll begin contacting the folks chosen for this year’s edition of the Pinch Hitters Series. Please, no more than one proposal per person. It’s not necessarily first come, first serve, so take your time coming up with what you want to write.
The absolute cutoff for submissions will be Sunday, January 5. I’ll post a few more reminders between now and then. Send your ideas to: cjennings (at) lohud.com. Thanks everyone. I’m looking forward to it.
Oh, and don’t forget we’re chatting today at noon.
