5 leftys against the lefty, wow!

no hot roberts, hurt? DL for Tex?

  3. exiledintampa April 18th, 2014 at 4:02 pm

I thought I noticed when Roberts crossed the plate last night, he bumped into the catcher, then grabbed his lower back on the right side. It gave me pause at the time. Now I wonder if there’s anything to it.

doreen, added some more in previous thread. Also Whole Earth in Princeton… if we are talking Mercer has some great local produce. Great health food store with cafe.

  5. yankeefeminista April 18th, 2014 at 4:05 pm

    exiled, are you being ironic?

  6. tomingeorgia April 18th, 2014 at 4:07 pm

    Hey, comet!
Things are good. We’ve been racing around getting ready for the estate sale, if you can call Mrs. Tom’s and my gaits racing. (We call ourselves “the halt and the lame”.) The folks we hired to run the the thing have been here five days, and they’re nowhere near finished, but there seems to be a lot of interest in the sale. Cold and wet out (by Georgia mid-April standards), but we’ll muddle through!

  7. mick April 18th, 2014 at 4:08 pm

Brenden Ryan says he will be available end of next week.
Anna and Roberts betta watch their backs.

  8. Ys Guy April 18th, 2014 at 4:09 pm

    Bedard, the past 3 seasons:

vs. LH Batter: .262ba, .343 obp, .378 slg, .722 ops
vs. RH batter: .252ba, ..331 obp, .414 slg, .745 ops

ichiro vs. bedard: .400 ba, .526 obp, .733 slg, 1.260 ops
    mccann 3/4 with a homer
    johnson 3/5

  9. BoJo April 18th, 2014 at 4:10 pm

Erik Bedard worries me a bit. A crafty lefty vet with something to prove…chip on his shoulder (get off his damn shoulder Chip!)…tonight’s game could be a tough one….hope not though. Go Yankees!

  10. mick April 18th, 2014 at 4:11 pm

    Bedard is garbage.

  11. MTU April 18th, 2014 at 4:13 pm

This version of Bedard has already been released 3x’s this year.

It’s his 1st start of the season.

I’d be surprised if we can’t roll him up fairly quickly.

Is Beltran hurt or is this just a day off because of the night game last night and a 4 game series on turf.

I don’t see how anyone can think they are going to lose Sizemore anytime soon.
He’s a righty bat that hits better than Anna or Ryan.
It’s just a matter of time for Anna and he’ll prolly go down for Tex.
    Nuno for DRob.
Who goes down for Ryan is a tough one..

  18. exiledintampa April 18th, 2014 at 4:18 pm

YF – sometimes I’m moronic but rarely ironic. Or, maybe I don’t understand how you mean that. I think he may not be feeling as well as we would like to think. Last nights great preformance aside. I think he’s still hurting. It was for just a moment but he grabbed his back.

  19. blake April 18th, 2014 at 4:18 pm

Thanks, yankeefeminista. Whole Earth seems like a good place to start. I’ve been doing the best I can with the organic section of Wegmans and Stop N Shop, and Whole Foods as well.

I used to be in Princeton all the time, not so much lately. Used to get my fish at Nassau Fish Market every week.

that’s when he moved him to 3rd.

Don’t know about that offense clicking. Their three wins before last night, they didn’t score more than 3 runs in a gsme.

  47. Ys Guy April 18th, 2014 at 4:39 pm

i think ellsbury will go back to the top of the order when tex comes back.

i like ellsbury gardner beltran soriano myself but jeter will be 2nd and tex either 4th or 5th.

i like tex coming back on D for sure though.

    they can live with that.

  50. Doreen April 18th, 2014 at 4:41 pm

    austinmac,

I live in huge township in New Jersey that has NOTHING. I have to drive to nearby towns for everything. Only Stop N Shop is right here, so on days I have no time (or energy) I end up there. But I have a minimum 20 minute drive for everything else. The Whole Foods and Trader Joes that everyone seems to like are more like 30 minutes away. They’re building another Whole Foods in the opposite direction from me, but still 20 minutes away. I guess it’s better than 30.

Because I have to drive so far to everything, I like to do a lot of things at once. I don’t like to “waste” a trip to just one place. It’s a lot of fuel. So, the Whole Foods that is closer is also near the Costco, where I stock up on my paper goods. so that’s a two-fer. I got to the Whole Foods in Princeton on Wednesday because I also wanted to go to another shop in the same area, and then stopped in two other stores, and got some paint sample sheets at Lowe’s. Got a lot accomplished on one trip.

It’s really annoying that there is nothing close by and right now, no indication that it’s going to change, even though there is a huge swath of real estate that would be ideal for that kind of development.

where is the nearest airport to Austin?

  55. Ys Guy April 18th, 2014 at 4:47 pm

yeah, jeter’s doing good. i think ells/jeter lacks the dynamism you’d get with gardy up when ells is on base, but what are you gonna do?

i expected about .270-.280 from jeter and he’s there so there’s no reason to rock the boat.

Not sure about Aceves, but it would be a good thing for either Phelps or Nuno to be stretched out at AAA. (Probably Phelps would be my first choice as he seems to make a better starter then BP arm).

All of a sudden, the Yankees seem to have some quality infield options. Gee, baseball is a real funny game!

  69. Tabbert April 18th, 2014 at 5:08 pm

The Yankees offense Ranks 2nd in baseball in batting average, 1st in OPS, 1st in wOBA, 1st in wRC+, 4th in total bases, 5th in stolen bases. On the flip side, going into yesterday’s game, we were dead last in hits with RISP… averaging leading 4 men in scoring position a game.

Still a skeptic about Solarte, but sometimes we can overthink this stuff, and for now its probably just best to sit back and enjoy the ride and hope it lasts.

Pretty sure I am not the only one not really looking forward to Tex and Ryans return. I kind of like the chemistry of the team right now.

Anna vs Sizemore. On paper I guess it probably makes more sense to keep Sizemore, especially if Ryan will be back.

    ========================

For the season they have scored more than 5 runs only 4 times in 16 games. However, most of that is due to their poor performance with RISP which could be flukey like low BABIP. Based on the raw numbers they should have scored far more than they have.
