Update, 1:25: Missed the first inning, downstairs at Paul O’Neill press conference. There’s no score after one.

Update, 1:32: Ramirez hits his first major-league homer, two-run drive to right for the Indians. 2-0 after 1 1/2.

Update, 1:41: Six up, six down for the Yankees.

Update, 1:50: McCarthy hit by a Brantley liner, possibly right foot or lower leg, stays in after a few warmups. Infield hit.

Update, 1:52: McCarthy gets a foul out to end the inning.

Update, 2:04: Cervelli got drilled by a 94 mph fastball in the left side, stayed down for a bit, but he stayed in the game. Gardner struck out for the third out.

Update, 2:11: McCarthy has a 1-2-3 fourth.

Update, 2:26: Drew strikes out with two on and two outs. At least the Yankees managed to get their first hit off Kluber, an Ellsbury double.

Update, 2:38: McCarthy strikes out David Murphy to strand Jose Ramirez at third, still 2-0 Indians after 4 1/2.

Update, 2:52: The Yankees have two hits through five.

Update, 2:57: McCarthy is throwing another great game, 1-2-3 sixth. Mike Aviles now replaces Murphy in left for the Indians.

Update, 3:01: Jeter passes Honus Wagner, now sole possession of sixth all time in hits, 3,431. Infield hit in the sixth, gets a standing ovation.

Update, 3:09: Ellsbury followed with a single, then Kluber fanned Beltran, Headley and Drew.

Update, 3:18: McCarthy leaves with runners at first and second and one out in the seventh. Rich Hill comes on.

Update, 3:28: Chase Whitley gets out of bases-loaded jam, striking out Aviles.

Update, 3:35: The Yankees go quietly in the seventh against Scott Atchison.

Update, 3:39: Brantley hits one high off the foul pole down the right-field line, against Whitley, 3-0 Indians in the eighth.

Update, 3:56: Another wasted opportunity. The Yankees are 0 for 9 with 6 Ks when they’ve had a runner in scoring position. Beltran and Headley just went down swinging with two on.

Update, 4:03: 3-0 heading for the last of the ninth. Cody Allen will try to close it out.

Update, 4:09: The Yankees go 1-2-3, finish with five hits. Indians win 3-0.
