Now the Yankees can offer CC even more

November

What have you done this weekend? Brian Cashman made the Yankees $1 million.

The Yankees sold the right to RHP Darrell Rasner to the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles of the Japanese Pacific League in return for $1 million. Rasner is expected to sign a two-year deal with the team. He and his agent approached the Yankees [...]

Today in The Journal News

The Yankees have made the pitch to CC Sabathia and it was a big one as he was offered six years and $140 million.
——————
Just a word on posting comments: I certainly encourage people to post news they find elsewhere and there’s plenty of it during the hot stove season. But please do not cut-and-paste the [...]

Hank: We want all the pitchers

November
14

After hours of unrelenting torture at the hands of the Associated Press, Hank Steinbrenner broke down tonight and revealed what the Yankees are up to.

Steinbrenner confirmed that Brian Cashman made an offer to CC Sabathia. Then he added: â€Ε“And we’re prepared to make offers to (A.J.) Burnett and (Derek) Lowe. I’m starting to become very [...]

Lots of cake for the big lefty

November

Here is the message the Yankees are sending the rest of baseball:

Don’t. Even. Try.

The Yankees have offered CC Sabathia a six-year deal worth $140 million. The record for a pitcher is six years and $137.5 million for Johan Santana. Don’t be surprised if CC ends up with $150 million, or an average of $25 million [...]

This is a view from one of the broadcast booths. Just think, five months from now Joe Morgan will be sitting here explaining how wins and losses determine the worth of a pitcher.

This is a view of left field. As you can see, it’s a lot like the old Stadium with the seats above the bullpen.

This is the Yankees dugout. It’s considerably larger than what they had at the old Stadium.

This is the view from the press box. The area closest to the field that has no seats is where the Legends seats will be. The seats are cushioned and won’t be installed until after the winter. All the other seats in the park are in.
